Inventory Management in SolutioPOS – Track Stock, Costs & Alerts

Good inventory management is the backbone of any retail or restaurant business. SolutioPOS includes a complete inventory system: track stock levels, record cost prices, receive low‑stock alerts, and calculate profit margins automatically. This guide walks you through everything.

Adding a product with stock and cost

Go to Admin Panel → Products → Add New. Fill in:

• Barcode/SKU: Unique identifier (scannable).
• Name: Product name (supports Arabic/French).
• Price: Selling price to customers.
• Cost: Your purchase cost (used for profit calculation).
• Stock: Initial quantity.
• Category: Group products for reporting.
• Image: Upload a picture (appears on touch screen).

Save – the product is now ready for sale and inventory tracking.

Automatic stock deduction

Every time a sale is completed, SolutioPOS automatically deducts the sold quantity from stock. If you process a return, stock is added back. You can manually adjust stock anytime from the product edit screen.

Low‑stock alerts

In Settings, you can set a global low‑stock threshold (default 5). When any product falls below this number, a red badge appears on the dashboard and a warning shows in the Admin Panel. You can also set per‑product thresholds in the future – for now, the global setting works for most businesses.

Viewing stock levels and profit

The Dashboard shows a low‑stock alert card. The Products list displays current stock and "Profit" column (price minus cost). You can also run a profit report from the Reports section.

Bulk updates via CSV

You can export your product list to CSV, edit in Excel (e.g., update prices or stock in bulk), and then re‑import. This is useful for seasonal changes or large inventory adjustments. Contact support if you need the CSV format.

Best practices

• Perform regular physical stock counts and adjust in SolutioPOS to keep accurate records.
• Use categories to quickly find products on the POS screen.
• Set low‑stock thresholds based on your reorder lead time.
• Export inventory CSV weekly as a backup.
